Thulasi Music Review
Thulasi - A musical hit from Venkatesh-Devisri combo

It is well aware that Devisri Prasad is one among the top young music directors and most of his tunes have become popular and many films became musical hits under his musical direction. So far, he did not get any opportunity to work with the prestigious banner Suresh Productions. He got the chance now in the form of 'Tulasi'.

Moreover, this is the first ever combination of Venkatesh with Devisri Prasad. Keeping in view the subject of the film and the director's statement that Venkatesh would have a different youthful look, Devisri Prasad also chose to give youthful songs, while maintaining the melody as it is also a family entertainer. It is a right mix of melody and youthful tunes.

Tula Tula Tulasi

Singers: Tippu, Priya
Lyricist : Chandrabose

Devisri Prasad who is known for giving youthful music, used traditional instrument like veena and added guitar string voice in the beginning of this title song. The drumbeat gives the foot-tapping mood. The speciality of the song is that Devisri Prasad ensured that the voice of singers would be very clear. Before the second stanza, he used flute, violin voices with drumbeat (dappu voice). The veena music that was used in the beginning continued all through the song and ended with the same tune.

Vennelintha

Singers: Venu, Sunitha
Lyricist: Chandrabose

This is yet another melodious number in the album again penned by Chandrabose. The literary value is rich in this duet. Keyboard was used to produce the typical voice at the start of the tune. The entire tune goes in a melody pattern. Though guitar and other modern instruments were used before the first stanza, the music director continued the drumbeat all through the first stanza to maintain the melody. Before the second stanza, a little speed music could be noticed with mouth organ sounds, after the mellifluous humming by Sunitha.

Nee Kallathoti

Singers: Sagar, Chitra
Lyricist: Bhaskarabatla

Piano was used to start this melodious duet. Chitra, the melody queen, had a perfect sync to the male singer Sagar. Traditional tabla voice continued before the stanza, coupled with piano and guitar tunes. This song is also rich in literary values. It appears to be a romantic song. Before the second stanza, there is a folk voice followed by shehnai sound that ends with guitar voice. The song ended with violin tune of the same lyric.

Mia Mia

Singers: Naveen, Mamta Mohandas
Lyricist: Chandrabose

This is a youthful number. The song begins with a whistle and the humming by Devisri Prasad. Though Naveen rendered the song, the voice of Devisri Prasad could also be heard in the form of humming. Chandrabose used Telugu, English and Hindi words of his choice to give a youthful feel. Trumpet was used before the first stanza to give a chance to the artistes to show their dancing skills. It appears that it is a teasing kind of song as hinted by Mamata Mohandas' voice. Devisri Prasad also chose Mamata Mohandas for this typical song. Use of keyboard and piano could be noticed before the second stanza.

Hello Boys

Singer: Devi Sri Prasad
Lyricist: Chandrabose

It is well aware that the film also has child sentiment. It looks the director sought the lyricist that he needed a song involving a hero and a child. So Chandrabose instead of using the same old moon, flowers etc., chose the new choices of spiderman, rainbow, genie and the like. The song begins with a child's voice. Use of ektara which is an interesting instrument for children is the speciality of the tune. The literary value is rich with easy and interesting words for children. The humming of children before the second stanza.

Ne Chuk Chuk Bandini

Singers: Devi Sri Prasad, Malgadi Shuba
Lyricist: Sahithi

After a long time, Malgadi Subha lent a voice for this item number in Telugu. To suit the nature of the song, the tune was also in a mass beat with heavy drumbeat. The tune has the scene of several old songs. Especially while listening to the verses, one could remember some old and fast numbers. However, the music director chose to use different music though the verses remind the old numbers.

Happydays(2007)-A shekar kammula film

posted under by kittu

Shekhar Kammula made his debut into films with 'Dollar Dreams'. Later, he ventured into Telugu films and his first movie 'Anand' starring Raja and Kamalini Mukherjee, was a big hit as it was a different from routine film. As the tagline of the film suggested, the film is really tasted like a good coffee. His next film is 'Godavari' featuring Sumanth and Kamalini Mukherjee. This film too was proved a good hit.
After two big successes, Shekhar ventured into the third movie with all new faces. At the same time the film featured the 'Happy Days' of college life and he made it again to achieve a hattrick. This time the director targeted the youth in particular.
A team of students join engineering college. Of them ChandraShekhar @ Chandu (Varun Sandesh) Madhumati @ Madhu (Tamanna), Rajesh (Nikhil), Appu (Gayatri Rao), Tyson (Rahul) and Chandra (Vamsikrishna) become good friends. As usual, the seniors rag the juniors and the juniors used to obey the seniors. One of the seniors order Madhu to come to the college in a half-saree. Chandu loses his heart once he saw Madhu in half saree. Their friendship grows to such a level that Chandu opens his heart innocently that he wanted to kiss her, while doing combined studies. Madhu's father happens to listen those words. Being a father's child, Madhu stops talking with Chandu. For almost two years their friendship fails to blossom again.
However, both of them continue to love each other in their hearts and same is the case with Rajesh and Appu. Of them, Tyson is brilliant chap and he used to do several wonders with his intelligence. Once, Tyson finds Chandra's girlfriend (Monali Choudary) with some other boy and warns Chandra to forget her. He fails to listen to Tyson. Then he tries to tell that girl not to cheat Chandra, and in a fit of anger slaps her. This causes heartburn to that girl who instigates the seniors, one of whom was her brother, and also Chandra. They bash him up. In another case, Tyson loses his heart to a senior Sravanti (Sonia). But she has some other plans to continue her education in the US and she refuses friendship with Tyson. Will Chandu able to patch up with Madhu? What happened the friendship between Appu and Rajesh? Did Chandra realise that his girlfriend really ditched him? Answers to all these questions form part of the climax.
Performance:
Chandu (Varun Sandesh): Though there are four heroes in the film, Sandesh could be considered as the main hero as he dominated all the other characters and appeared the leader of the gang. He also got a good footage all through the film. Though a novice, he performed well. Especially in the love and romantic scenes and other scenes with college in the backdrop, he showed good body language.
Madhu (Tamanna): Though she appeared in modern attire, i.e, in jeans and shirts, she appeared very homely. She is glamorous in modern outfits and at the same time gorgeous in half sarees and sarees. She too gave a brilliant performance along with Sandesh. Especially, she expressed good anger in her eyes and in facial expressions.
Rajesh (Nikhil): This is another major character that has good footage all through the film. Though he is the son of an MLA, he could not do anything in front of seniors and he provided good comedy in the movie. His language with Telangana slang is good to listen and his expressions and body language in convincing the other friends is worth watching.
Tyson (Rahul): This is another major character in the film. He is a very intelligent guy. He wants to do something in Robotics. He had good interest in computers and he used to do wonders with his experiments in physics and chemistry. Moreover, his body language in saving the friendship, helping friends and in maintaining friendship is also worth watching. The way he wanted to win the love even by going to the US as a junior to his lover again, wets the eyes of the audiences.
Vamsikrishna, Sonia, Gayatri Rao, Monali Choudary and others also did justice to their respective roles. Kamalini Mukherjee made a guest appearance as a lecturer and looked quite romantic in a couple of scenes. Other who played the roles of seniors looked very apt in their respective roles.
Technical:
Music: Though both the earlier films of Shekhar Kammula had KM Radhakrishnan as music director, this time the director-cum-producer chose Mickey J Meyer and he gave melodious tunes to all the songs. While a couple of them were based on melody the others suited the taste of youth.
Camera: Vijay C Kumar's cinematography during songs is fantastic. He tried new angles and especially the one that was shot with Vizag beach in its backdrop is beautiful. Even the scenes with college backdrop also came out very well. Especially, he was able to capture the moods of the heroes and heroines of the film perfectly. He gave the feel as if we were watching some incidents that are just happening in front of us and the audiences don't get a cinematic feeling at all. He perfectly moulded the moods and idea of Shekhar Kammula on the celluloid.
Editing: Marthand K Venkatesh edited the film. Though he did his perfectly, he might have forgot to cut short a part of the film as the length of the film is too long and it stretched for more than two and a half hours. In fact, he could nod to do so, as the scenes were so interlinked and make the audiences immerse in it unknowingly due to the magic spell of director Shekhar Kammula.
Location: A major part of the film was shot in Chaitanya Bharati Institute of Technology (CBIT). In fact, the CBIT management of stopped giving permission for shooting films on their campus long ago. Being an alumnus of the college Shekhar Kammula convinced the management to shoot the film on their campus.
Director: Once again Shekhar Kammula came up with a clean and neat film. So far, several directors destroyed the college atmosphere in films and portrayed it in indecent and awkward manner. Criticising the lecturers, showing them as buffoons, showcasing the principal as a fool and other such scenes are routine in Telugu films mostly. But Shekhar Kammula showed the real college atmosphere on the screen.
Producer : Shekhar Kammula is a very intelligent producer too. He cut the cost of the production on a big way in different ways. He chose new faces for the entire cast, he saved in the form of remuneration to the cast. Next he shot a major part of the film in CBIT, which saved him the cost of erection of sets etc. He partnered with 'Pantaloons', which helped him in saving the cost of costumes budget in a major way. Above all, he provided boarding facilities to the cast and crew in Treasure Island which he got at a reasonable price.
Remarks: Running a college radio, starting anti-ragging squad in the college itself are the innovative ideas of Shekhar Kammula, which could be introduced in the college, and they would be really useful for the college students. Generally there is a wrong notion that youthful films are not advised for family viewing. But 'Happy Days' proved it wrong as the film reflected the mindset, views and aspirations of the youth. It is a movie which everyone can enjoy.

Athidi(2007)-music review

1. Khabaddhar ani.. Sirivennela / Naveen - 3.75/5

Interesting composition interspersed with Hindi and English lyrics, it is a rousing call to eliminate evil. You can hear some of the beats from Athadu and Pokiri that made those album huge hits if you listen closely enough, but Mani still manages to keep it original. This is another title song that Mahesh’s fans will cheer. Mani does not skimp on the drums nor does he skimp on the Christian style chants.

2. Gona..Gona.. Chandrabose / Naveen, Rita - 3.75/5

Hip hop style with fast, peppy beats are the hallmark of this composition. Another instant chartbuster, this is going be another one to dance in the aisles for. The lyrics are again easy listening and fun to remember

3. Sathyam Emito... Sirivennala / Deepu, Usha - 4/5

The most lyrically profound song of the album penned by Sirivennela. Only he could come up with such philosophical poetry. One of the most interesting compositions in recent times, it is difficult to slot this song in a particular genre. You don’t come across such songs often. The slow music gels completely with the lyrics. Mahesh fans would have enjoyed Sahasam Swasaga in Okkadu. Similary, Satyam is another one to cherish.

4. Killadi koona.. Viswa / Karthik, Rita - 3.5/5

The starting piano tunes are fabulous and then Mani tunes into a catchy, peppy beat for this duet. A youthful composition in both music and lyrics, this will be an instant hit among the youth. Mani shows a lot of variation in the music for this song.

5. Rathrayina ok.. Bhaskarabhatla / Naveen, Anushka - 4/5

Middle eastern style music beats for this item song are enchanting and foot tapping. If you enjoyed Guru’s Maiyya, Maiyya, you will enjoy this song too. This is probably the most mass song of Mahesh ever lyrics wise.

6. Valla.. Valla... Chandrabose / Rahul Nambiar, Dharshana - 3.75/5

Fast beats, catchy tunes and a youthful tenor to this song make it another immediate hit. The lyrics are also easy to catch on to. This duet will be an instant chartbuster and one to dance in the aisles for. .

OVERALL VERDICT ::

This album is another chartbuster from Manisharma. There is not a single disappointing track and every track is one that fans will enjoy!!

Chirutha movie started at 11.00 PMexactly and the opening scene is Surya, was threatened by goons. But surya revolts and he returned back to home. Later he was attacked by goons and was killed by villain in this process Suryas wife also hurted severely . Charan is the son of Surya and Master Akash(Sonof Puri Jagannath) played the Jr charan role saw the blood shed of villain killing his father.

Charan mother was hospitalised and needed lot of money for the operation. Thanikella Bharani came to the rescue of the situation and asks the kid to go to jail instead of some one. Charan agrees for that and he went to boston school.

Charan spends 12 years in prison and he is grown up now. Charan introduction was terrific and there was a fight in the jail which we can call as first. We have already seen part of the scene in the first trailor aired. Charan jail mate was Venu madhav and there were quite a few comedy scenes betweencharan and venumadhav.Charan completed 12 years in jail and released from jail.

Charan tried to trace his mother. After that Charan goes to bangkok. There he works in the travel company run by MS Narayana along with other comedians. Ali introduction is hilarious. Neha sharma also visits Bangkok along with her friends and manager M S Narayana. There was lot of comedy scenes between the whole team at Bangkok. There follows a third song (Ivvalee cherukunnadi kala) of the movie. one of the local goon teases nehasharma, Charan rescued her and in process there was an excellent fight just before the interval.

Hero is working as a body guard for heroine after he rescues her and the gang goes for a boat ride. In this process they lost completely and reached an island. In the no man island they found a old house and spent some time there. There was 4th song in the movie in the form of Maro Maroo. PR trades with Charan and promises Charan that he will give his mother in lieu of Heroine. Charan leaves heroine. There was a beautifully picturised song ' Chamka chamka'. This song is highlight of the movie.

Villian who teases Heroine in the first half enters and Kidnaps heroine. PR requests Charan to get back Heroine from the clutches of villian. There was a secrete revealed and one has to see the movie to know what is the secrete. Finally charan kills the goons and villains to get back Neha.
